The map
Tokyo and Osaka share Japan and are rivals from the start. Manila and Jakarta are island capitals that live by their fleets, Singapore controls the passage between oceans, and Delhi, Mumbai and Karachi crowd the Indian subcontinent.
Beijing and Seoul face each other in the north-east, while Novosibirsk has all of Siberia behind it.

Each seat has a default capital, marked on the command table before the match. Any commander can pick another named city of the map instead.
